Review on 🔒 Dorman 609-154 TPMS Long Black Plastic Sealing Valve Stem Cap - Pack of 50: Reliable Tire Pressure Monitoring Valve Covers by Andrew Webster

My problem: I was having trouble accessing the valve stem caps in the trim ring on our car's wheels and wanted a longer valve stem cap so I could remove them more easily. As advertised, this is a longer valve stem cap for the Schrader valve stem commonly used on cars and many bicycles. However, the threaded portion is only on the top part of the lid and doesn't reach all the way to the bottom. These caps work great on my bikes with long valve stems (5 stars for bike use) but they won't thread onto the much shorter stems on my machine that I bought them for (hence a 4 star rating). By sanding the base of this cap a bit and sanding the top of a regular short cap to fit this and then gluing it together with epoxy I was able to construct a long valve stem cap with threads in the base which I can be easily reached and removed on our machine (see photo). Note to Dorman: If you guys could just make a top-to-bottom threaded version of this cap you would save me a lot of trouble and I would be GLAD to pay you guys extra for it. For your health!
