I have a few important apps that I use on my iPad that require extensive typing. The on-screen keyboard just did not work well for this purpose so I decided to try a keyboard. This works perfectly and was very easy to sync. I always keep it plugged in so I can't speak for the battery life but I've had no issues. You can also turn the trackpad off which I prefer. The backlight options are also nice but not necessary in my opinion. Definitely worth trying out.
