I used a pair of scissors I bought over 30 years ago which were $200 a pair at the time. I don't cut professionally anymore, just family and close friends, so I didn't need super expensive scissors. I decided to go with them knowing I had the option to return them if they weren't exactly what I was looking for. I was glad the small pad was removable as I never used a small pad. But I didn't have to take it off as it was very practical. The blades had to be adjusted a bit when I first started using them and the blades are a bit longer than my old shears but nothing I couldn't get used to. I liked the colors and while this was the least important aspect, it was one of the reasons I chose these scissors over others that I felt were very similar in design. In general I am very satisfied, I hope that these scissors will serve me for another 30 years! :)
