, I'm finally fed up with my messy desk with a Mac Pro, a Mac laptop, and three PCs sharing a 4K monitor and multiple keyboards and mice. I found this HDMI switch and also bought a USB switch. There were some setup issues, such as one of the PCs not maintaining its resolution after switching and I had to resize the window every time I switched back, but I've had no issues with Mac and other PCs. Later I found an HDMI EDID emulator pass-through adapter to fool the problematic PC and that solved the problem. The other issue was with the USB switch and the "USB connection" would not resume after switching back to one of the PCs, but using a USB hub between the switch and the PC solved the problem. So now I'm very happy with the setup, except I had to buy a USB switch to support 5 PCs (the one I bought only supports 4 PCs) to match the HDMI switch. The HDMI switcher's remote is also handy for selecting any connection, while the USB switcher only has one button (no remote) and requires toggling between options.
