We really hoped this grill would perform the way other customers describe it. Living in northern Minnesota, it would be amazing to be able to roast indoors without smoke. We were so disappointed with the product that we debated reasons why we shouldn't keep it while we cooked dinner on it. Everything started well. There was some smoke but it dissipated quickly but shortly thereafter our fire alarm went off and we opened the windows and turned on 3 fans to try and get the smoke out of the apartment. also missing. We had the grill on high and it took about 30 minutes to cook about a half inch steak. Mushrooms don't cook well either. We grilled mushrooms and red onions and the red onions tasted great and had nice grill marks, but the mushroom was just dried out. It was dehydrated and not grilled. The infrared light is bright and red, making it difficult to tell if the meat is done. All in all I don't recommend this unless you really hope it doesn't set off your smoke alarm. when you use it. We got ours back today.
