Usually always works - we have over 20 of these in the Mac store and for some reason they often work better than HDMI/DVI connections, Apple/Mac is the bad guy, I guess it never helps or even cares. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because sometimes these devices break, I'm not sure if it's the Thunderbolt connector or the electronics - I have 3 unreliable/bad ones on my desk (and probably over 20 with daily use) - several are expected for users who connect and disconnect multiple times a day I think. CM offered to take them under warranty, the problem for me is that the shipping almost exceeds the cost of the item, and I also have no way of attributing the receipts to the device.
