Silicone Microwave Popcorn

I microwave popcorn in Presto brand plastic popcorn all the time and this unit is quite unusual but it worked fine from the first batch. The Presto block is made of plastic and this one is made of silicone and while both can withstand high temperatures, this block is foldable and therefore takes up less storage space. The photo on the product page is a little blurry as the lid is flat and not curved. This is important as the actual maximum lot size taken will be much smaller than shown in the photo, so multiple lots may be required. Before use, first wash the two parts in warm soapy water and dry them. Then add 1/4 cup popcorn kernels to the bottom of the base and loosely set the top on. There are a few recipes on the back of the included instructions that call for salt and butter, but the basic instructions only use kernels, which is how I make popcorn, and any toppings and spices desired are added after cooking. The 1000w microwave I used lasted 2 hours. Minutes and 50 seconds to the perfect ending, and only 12 seeds remained unexploded. Time will vary based on performance, so listen to the pops slowly, then stop when 5 seconds elapse between pops. Note that it usually takes at least 1 minute for the popping to start and I usually microwave for 3 minutes and then stand there listening during the time. last minute. Some steam escapes when removed from the microwave, but I was able to remove it with no problem. Not to mention the technical specifications, but different types of popcorn - yellow, white, black, red, etc. - along with the moisture content and age of the kernels, affect the time it takes to pop and whether there is too much unopened popcorn is pips, so better not make any guesses and stick around while cooking. Good unit.
