especially for nice lights. but unfortunately the lights were never very bright and stopped working after a while. but now sometimes half of it is lit. I really like this pot except for the backlight issue. it heats up pretty quickly. Probably most people won't have this lighting problem, we just got a broken one and it was too late to return it. One reviewer says the switch is dangerous because it doesn't turn off when you potty. Yes, there are some pot designs that have the switch turned off. but they exaggerate the supposed seriousness of the so-called problem. Turning off the pan itself is trivial, and it says it has built-in overheat protection, which I haven't tested and neither did this other reviewer. There are other pans on the market that don't turn off when lifted, this was true of all older models by the way.
