I live in a 100+ year old house downtown with my own garage. Instead of digging a 3 foot trench across my large yard including ripping up the patio, I decided to purchase a 100 foot RV extension to get to my garage. Hole in the reveal behind the gutters on the underside of the overhanging roof. I originally used steel wool to keep rodents out while looking for the right piece to plug the hole. After searching the internet for cable management solutions and other plugs, grommets and ducts, I finally came across this cable duct. It says 3.5" diameter, which I needed for the female plug I had to go through. However, due to its construction and bug door, that measurement isn't entirely accurate. Every 50 amp cord I've looked at has an L shaped connector end so be careful this hatch does not support a standard 50 amp cord.I had to modify the part to make it work.Using my new and therefore still very sharp secateurs I cut the long end of the hatch along a side, which allowed me to bend the hatch door far enough to slide the extension through. Surprisingly, this part is strong enough to withstand abuse. After the trap door was inserted into the hole in the reveal, the cut I made had no effect on the Overall effectiveness of the solution, I left steel wool over the cable trap door, just in case, screwed the trap door to the reveal and closed the trap door, which fits as is eat The one star deduction is a result of misleading sizing and compliance claims and the extra work I had to go through to modify the sunroof for my needs. I still have no idea what the real intent of this part is in the RV app, but if you want to modify your garage to use an EV extender, you can. If you can find a bigger hatch it might be worth it.
