I had an iPad during Hurricane Sandy. That kept me going until they turned the lights back on, but I had to spend hours on the neighbor's generator. Now I have an iPad Pro and this little car charger. It charges faster when the engine is running, but still runs when it's off. It charges iPad and phone at the same time. I consider it emergency equipment.
