The perfect solution to a longstanding problem

A few years ago my wife and I bought an entertainment cabinet so my then young children wouldn't have to play around with the television and its various components. While we were mostly happy with the closet, I've always been bothered by the pocket doors, or more specifically how they block the TV when viewed from an angle (sitting in my chair). In fact, I've been looking for such a ready-made solution for a long time, but only recently stumbled upon it. The rail system is very strong, made of steel and slides smoothly. I was concerned it wouldn't slide too quickly on impact and the TV would slide off the stand, but under the weight of the TV (and the plywood platform I attached to the panel) it's fine. It's designed to be mounted on a horizontal surface, which is what we have (there's a black platform in the closet). I used 6 3/4" pan head screws (not included) to mount it to the platform. I then bought a sheet of 3/4" hardwood plywood which I cut to the dimensions of the TV stand (about 22 .75 x 18mm)."), sanded and rounded edges, then sprayed matte black with Krylon primer and paint in one product. I attached the plywood to the metal plate with 6 5/8" pan head screws (again, not included). The whole project turned out wonderfully and now I can place the TV in a comfortable viewing position and easily access the connections when needed access the back. The seller shipped quickly, the unit is very well made/sturdy and I don't notice any play when fully extended.I intend to make a ledge on the front of the plywood to hide the rails and give it a little handle to pull it out, but other than that I'm pretty happy with it.
