Review on Desheng Kids Reusable Silicone Straws for Take and Toss Cups - BPA Free, Short, Narrow, Assorted - Pack of 12 with Cleaning Brush by Dion Madison

Suitable for Take and Toss

I bought these to replace the straws that came with the Take and Toss cups. The original TnT straws were so badly chewed that I had to cut them off until they were unusable. My biggest concern was how easy it would be to slip these straws into the TnT cups since they aren't made out of durable plastic. My video shows it can be done with one hand, but it needs more encouragement (of course it's a lot easier to insert the straw before putting the lid on because you can easily pull it out from the other side, but experienced parents know that the straw placed BEFORE the lid snaps into place causes a volcanic eruption). Another issue I have is durability. My 4 year old loves to chew and has been testing these new flexible straws for a while. So far they're breaking down quite well, but I'm not sure how they'll hold up over time. A real endurance test was not long in coming. I will update the review if anything changes. Another thing I've personally tested is that these straws create a lot of suction where you can't suck the liquid out of the cup when the bottom of the straw is flush with the bottom of the cup. You should have a small gap. So now I see the benefit of using straws like these that are angled at the bottom so that's not a problem.
