100 Mbit/s is not Gigabit Ethernet.

November 11, 2020 Actually, the poor monitor performance is back, but I gave up and just lived with extra HDMI cables. Then tonight I noticed that the ethernet was running at 100 Mbps, not 1000, even though it was only using Cat 6 cabling with a gigabit switch. Connect the cable to the laptop itself and wait: 1000 Mbit / s. Ready. with this brand. Lasuney sucks. ----------- Everything works now. I'm very unhappy that the device performs extremely poorly with a 1080p monitor (even text editing was problematic). The seller assured me it was a defective unit and sent me a replacement free of charge. The plug-in fits my scenario perfectly. USB peripherals and a 1080p DisplayPort monitor work properly with a single USB-C port outside of a working computer as they should. Five stars; Product works and service works.** * *Personal PC cannot be retested; that the MSI laptop fan is dying. But if it works for a work laptop, there shouldn't be a reason why it won't work after replacing the fan.** * *Old name: Poor performance with external 1080p monitor. Not for monitor - works for ethernet, keyboard etc. Tested on two different laptops (MSI, Dell) with HDMI and DisplayPort. Both computers complain about "Display connection may be limited" or something similar. Only a 1080p monitor; there is nothing stress on the hub. Trying to play a game that normally runs consistently at 60 fps on a gaming laptop with an external monitor was torture. Do you think I'll get 15 fps? No problem after switching to normal DP connection. Even editing code on an external monitor connected to this junk was problematic. However, it allows me to switch my ethernet keyboard between two computers more easily, so it's not entirely useless.
