Review on Bracket Weather Protective Adjustable Security Camera & Photo and Video Surveillance by Darin Marshall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent design, but an improvement could be made to the design of the camera mounts.

Camera mounts: I have previously bought other Blink camera kit housings that I have. With the latest new cameras I decided to search the property and came across this one. They seem to be built from the same materials as the others. However, they have a handy feature that allows you to install the mount. However, if the camera requires attention or distance, you can remove the camera without removing the entire base mount. Simply push the front of the camera/housing a few mm into the housing and release. (like a stereo cabinet door). The camera module is then detached and released, allowing you to service the camera. The only thing that confuses me is that there is no lock to prevent accidentally hitting it so it doesn't get unlocked. These cameras aren't cheap and I've seen people trying to steal them. With this mount you can simply throw a ball or use a stick, slide the camera/housing in and release the camera to record it. Even a bird strike can do this. (There have been instances of birds trying to nest on the camera. I saw a bird hit it hard and the camera came off.) Overall I would rate it a 4. If there was a secondary hold feature, I would rate it a 5. Again a very innovative design. You can make it a hit by adding a secondary hold function to take it down. Honestly reading the description I thought I would have to press the edge and then press the front of the camera to trigger it.
