Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Enhanced Temperature and Humidity Module for MESH by Ramon Hood

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Decent features, but its shortcomings make it useless.

Working and beautiful. The app is quite tricky to use though, you have to keep the device you are connecting to within bluetooth range at all times for it to work and if you go out of bluetooth range you have to restart the device when you come back . before it reconnects. (That's why I can't set it up on my phone because going to the kitchen and back has to reset everything. I would install it on my tablet, but the Mesh app won't install on it.) The device is also battery-powered and needs to be charged: This is useless if you have an application that you want to run all the time. For example, I wanted it to monitor the temperature in my apartment and alert me when the temperature drops so I can keep an eye on the stove that needs to be lit from time to time. (This was easy to set up: just set the temperature ranges on the mesh trigger and a tone will play on my phone if it goes out of temperature range.) This won't happen every day, so the device will sit and do nothing. often, but I need to charge the battery regularly. Finally, keeping the Mesh Trigger charged and connected to my device is harder than just going down to the basement and checking the stove daily. All in all, I'd say that mesh tags are an interesting concept, but they're more of a toy than really useful gadgets at the moment. Great for a smart kid to play with a few and figure out what to do with them, but useless for real world applications.
