I bought this because I had a smaller one and the plunger broke. I assumed it was the same design. The spout is smaller and flows with every pour. The grinder lift (which works great on the smaller version) is hard plastic to the brim, not soft brim. It's much less effective at lifting thicker as it no longer touches the glass walls. At the same time, this is a French Press, and he brews coffee in a French Press. The ground lift works, which certainly helps with cleaning, as opposed to not having one like most other models, but it's not as good with the earlier smaller incarnation. Too bad they don't make replacement parts for the 4 cup model.
