So much easier to clean!

I love coffee in a coffee maker! I was trying to find a way to prevent so much leftover food from going down the drain so I was very happy to find this product. There's still some left at the bottom, but a lot less than my old method of pressing the bottom over the trash can! , but I've found that if I stir it about a minute after pouring the water and then put the lid on it, it kind of keeps the crumb from coming through. I don't know why this helps, but it makes a huge difference to me!

Slightly easier to clean

I switched from an Aeropress to a French Press to make a large cup of coffee and didn't want the typical French Press mess. The elevator works but at the end there is still a lot of goo stuck to various parts that need washing so not as clean and tidy as I had hoped. I was also disappointed that the glass has no thermal properties at all, so the coffee in it cools down quickly. You can't make two cups and drink them back-to-back unless you want iced coffee. The latter may be unfair as the…

Better than most, not as good as the smaller version.

I bought this because I had a smaller one and the plunger broke. I assumed it was the same design. The spout is smaller and flows with every pour. The grinder lift (which works great on the smaller version) is hard plastic to the brim, not soft brim. It's much less effective at lifting thicker as it no longer touches the glass walls. At the same time, this is a French Press, and he brews coffee in a French Press. The ground lift works, which certainly helps with cleaning, as opposed to not…

Great lifter, cheap plastic parts

It does exactly what it says on the tin, effortlessly lifts all the used soil from the decanter into my compost bin. I love french press coffee, but I hate washing coffee residue down the drain at a septic tank. Not great for one day but it adds up. The base and handle are very comfortable to use and beautifully finished. The mesh filter arrangement is also very good; The way the mesh wraps around the feather is much better than my bodum. However. There are no water level markings on the carafe

Good quality and easy to clean

I'm so glad I bought this French Press. Oxo has done a good design here and I'm glad I didn't let the critical reviews put me off. First, it's true that some bases pass the screen during a dive. But I'm okay with that because it's not that bad. Use your own grinder and extra coarse setting. If you don't need coffee grounds, use the paper filter method. This French press is well made and appears to be more durable than the Bodum that knocked over and smashed the cat. It holds 32 ounces, which is
