Shortly after receiving my new shoes, I pulled them out of the box, marveled at their beauty and quickly put them on my 64 year old feet. With their unique tongueless design and stretchy upper, they fit like a glove. A few minutes later, my dog Jake and I were already walking down the sidewalk, putting the rubber shoes on the street. I don't think I had walked more than a few hundred steps when I realized my wish for a smooth, soft landing wasn't going to come true; rather, each step I took was accompanied by a loud "clap" with an accompanying landing that could be equated with carrying a brick. No, these shoes were NOT intended to become my new hiking boots. I haven't run in these shoes to be honest, so I can't comment on how they feel when running. However, since the word "walk" is part of their nomenclature, I can safely say -- at least for me, a 6-foot, 225-pound, 64-year-old active male -- they don't do much good in the task of "walking." .
