The Tubbs Alps and VRTs are the best snowshoes on the market for steep mountain hiking.
They are very basic and solid which equals reliability and years of use. The bindings are a breeze to use.

- Easy to put on. Great grip on ice and hard pack snow. Light weight.
Cons
- The Tubbs Snowshoes Flex Alp is quite heavy, making it more difficult to maneuver on long hikes
