Easy to use and solidly built but a little bulky

My wife and I just got a couple of pairs of snowshoes this winter to hike the NH 48 (when there are fresh snow). She got MSR Lightening Ascend and I got Tubbs Flex Alp. Our impression after a couple of usage?- I love my Tubbs, works really well and comfortable to walk on. Very easy to put on and take off;- My wife loves her MSR, because it is lightweight, and works well when walking. She tried my Tubbs too and then she said she wish her MSR had same bindings as the Tubbs because those are much…

Pros
  • Work well in deep snow on inclines.
Cons
  • The price point of these snowshoes is quite high when compared to other similar snowshoes available in the market

Solid snowshoe. 2 thumbs up

Wanted to replace a cheaper pair without the riser and pleasantly surprised about every aspect of this snowshoe, its lighter, the fastening system is awesome and secures great to foot, plus has the Riser. Def highly recommended.

Pros
  • Snowshoes
Cons
  • The snowshoes are not the most durable, and the metal frame can dent or become misshapen after just a few uses

Great Snowshoes good for me

Purchased these late in the season. Put a good 50 miles on them and am very impressed. Bindings are super easy to get in and out of and the metal tracks on the bottom worked great on icy trails. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • ‎Flex ALP
Cons
  • The snowshoes can be quite difficult to put on and take off, requiring a bit of skill and strength to do so

Basic, Solid, Reliable, Great Binding

The Tubbs Alps and VRTs are the best snowshoes on the market for steep mountain hiking. They are very basic and solid which equals reliability and years of use. The bindings are a breeze to use.

Pros
  • Easy to put on. Great grip on ice and hard pack snow. Light weight.
Cons
  • The Tubbs Snowshoes Flex Alp is quite heavy, making it more difficult to maneuver on long hikes
