Great value for money - jackets

First test conditions. 90 degrees Fahrenheit, no wind, no clouds. This is the Honda ST1100. 20 years ago I bought a Hein Gericke riding jacket halfway down a motorcycle shop for about three times what I paid for it. HG was NOT a summer jacket. Ten minutes in it would have toasted me today. It had excellent armour, was very waterproof and windproof and had a cozy lining. This HWK jacket is a mesh jacket designed to let in as much wind as possible. He has better armor than HG. That's because of two decades of technology. I took it and drove to Culver about eight miles. I didn't get hot until I was halfway through the snake under the scorching sun. Two minutes ago on the freeway, and I immediately cooled down. It is black and HiVis green with continuous 3M reflective strips. It looks good to me and fits my 5-10 199lb frame well. But it really gets stuck with the unsuspecting gardeners that have flooded my area. That's why I bought it. It has medium sized welt pockets and two inside pockets for wallet and cell phone. This is a lightweight summer protective jacket that protects my skin from the sun even on long runs. And it gives my lady a little more peace of mind. You really can't go wrong at fifty bucks, if you want to get more out of your gear spend four hundred on an Alpine Star. I intend to get the three season version later this summer as well.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • I won't say anything
