Problem - when my wife's truck is running, the fan motor always runs and the RPM is never the same. One minute low, another minute fast. Thus, air is always blowing into the truck's cabin and you cannot change the speed. The display says that fan speed can be controlled by pressing the + or - buttons, but nothing changes. I went to AutoZone and looked for this part. It was made by Duralast and when I decided to put it in, the pins didn't quite match. I had to bend/press the pins a bit because they were too tight on one edge of the case. Plug installed, reinstalled and switched on. Now I have NO FAN SPEED and control at all. bad part? Install the original defective part and get the fan out of control. Just like before. Take back the piece of Duralast. Get the second part (maybe the first one was bad). Install.same. Basically no engine. Install the broken original part because the air conditioner is needed. Find this part on Revain. This is a genuine Ford OEM, made in Mexico. Install it. The pins are in the right place - no bending required. After 10 minutes, fan motor and control box work like new. SWEET!. The Duralast part is about $75 at Autozone. The Amazon part was $54 and worked great.
