Review on Optimized Vornado Ultra3 Whole Room Ultrasonic Humidifier by Victor Ahmed

I bought 3 of these in December 2016 to replace a 'waterdrop' style humidifier that was impossible to clean. The Vornado Ultra3 seems easier to clean. Cons: 1. Mineral sludge will float to the reservoir within a month, even with softened water and tank filter replaced monthly.2. There is also a hard white coating on the bottom round point that cannot be cleaned properly even with the included brush/scraper. Bleach/vinegar (do not mix!) alone will not help; They should be cleaned weekly with a bottle brush and soap.3. Also, you need to clean the water tank regularly with a bottle brush and soap, although it is difficult due to the wide shape and small opening.4. A closed fan collects dust, but cannot be properly cleaned with compressed air. The device is not intended for disassembly.5. The curved water tank is difficult to properly insert into the device with one hand. Advantages: 1. Humidification works well even at low fan speed.2. The fan is silent.3. The warranty department is very easy to deal with. During the 5 year warranty I replaced 2 out of 3 with no problem due to fan bearing issues. Bottom line: I have months of warranty left, but I gave it to Marie Kondo for electronics recycling. Better alternative: I replaced them with 3 Vornado UH100 which clean MUCH better. The main attachment, the entire spout body from top to bottom and even the fan body are removable for cleaning. The cylindrical water tank and the lid are easy to clean, insert into the device and check the water level. Its small fan is a little louder, but my kids didn't complain. The power supply seems to be a bit trickier, sometimes shutting down within 2 seconds unless I've reset the attached power strips.
