This storage compartment for the central control fits perfectly in the storage box. You still have a big bucket at the bottom to throw things in, but I've found small storage boxes help. Now I can quickly get to my sunglasses, pen, loose change and a few other everyday items so I don't have to take the gray off often. However, it takes practice to remove the tablet without pulling the cables. It also does not have large gathering places. A little grip on the center raised area would make a difference (and help me not worry about dropping the tray when I get it. I'll probably add something.
