Allows you to use power and 3.5mm audio jack at the same time (little miracle you charge your battery can make phone calls and listen to music at the same time? Has been around for 25 years but whatever Apple is) Constant hissing and interference when listening to anything with this built in device. power connected or not. Since it came with two modules, I was able to try another module as well. Unfortunately both do the same thing. This does not happen with other adapters. Not recommended unless you are very tolerant of line noise.
