I really, really wanted to love this wooden shelter. I first bought this for my two gerbils because they like to jump onto higher platforms to get a better view of their room. My gerbils love to chew on everything so they started destroying this shelter. I know most small animal shelters or hutches are built with hot glue or nails, but I never expected thin, sharp nails sticking out of their shelter. I immediately removed it from their tank and I'm glad they didn't get hurt. I'm sad, I really wanted to love this hideaway because it looks so cute and sturdy. However, the safety of my gerbils comes first.
