Review on πŸ’‡ Philips MG5730 Series 5000 Haircut Kit by Celina Grna ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I expected more from buying, but not the worst option.

Having seen so many wonderful comments, I felt compelled to add my own. I'll be honest and admit that the trimmer fell short of my hopes. But there is no product or manufacturer claim here, and I was hoping for more. The comments where the words "smooth" and "clean" appear will be my first stop. These two words have zero relevance to the trimmer at hand. No, this is not a replacement for your usual razor; it's a trimmer. Without a nozzle, it leaves a bristle that is both well-tangible and quite sharp. It says on the body comb that it leaves hair 3 mm long, so I don't know how the individuals who write here get such a close shave. Therefore, if you prefer soft, silky skin, you won't find it here, either, even though I consider 3 mm to be average for the body. Perhaps the mesh nozzle causes some confusion, but it is not intended for use on the body or in the shower; rather, it is designed for use in making adjustments. Maybe a beard and head hair are appropriate candidates for the trimmer, but I have neither. Nose and ear clippers are never going to be perfect, and neither can I. Despite its adaptability, I had the sensation that it was incomplete. Maybe it's because I get my hair cut at a salon rather than growing out a beard. Phillips firms, if you'd want to share your thoughts in advance, you may do so here: I've already reached out to you and received excellent advice; I still have no qualms about working with you. If anything, I'd suggest adding more detail to the product description; judging by the feedback on this page, it seems like many people are confused about which nozzles are meant for which areas of the body. After all, Phillips, you use two different razors for your body and your face; why buy two different razors at all if this and other multi-grooms, or whatever they're called, are so universal? In most cases, I would be happy to receive a return.

Pros
  • Somewhat multipurpose, maybe? Perhaps the blades can sharpen themselves.
Cons
  • Use outside the home, Special battery pack. A battery that requires 16 hours to fully discharge and recharge. Insufficient charge indicator. Does not substitute for a traditional razor. Self-harm is possible.
