Review on Dorman 741-813: High-Quality Front Driver Side Power Window Motor and Regulator Assembly for Ford / Mercury Models by John Munajj

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far so good with window regulator and motor assembly

If $2-300 isn't that much for you, I would pay to have it done. This is for me but I have good friends so it was necessary to buy it. My friend changed them many times so I asked if he would help (I basically kept things while he did most of the work). You'll get greasy, so maybe buy some soapy lube if you don't have it. It comes with installation instructions and you can find installation videos for your specific vehicle on YouTube. I think it took 1 1/2 hours because we had to break/drill some rivets from the previous motor assembly. My friend said that usually there are only screws. I have an Explorer and there wasn't much room to work. He said other vehicles have more room to work with, making it easier to assemble and disassemble. It felt like this was a quality product and it was covered by a warranty. Sometimes it's better to pay a little more, I think this is one of those cases. I will put 5 for now and update if anything changes.

Pros
  • window regulator and motor assembly
Cons
  • unreliable
