Review on MSI Optix MAG342CQRV 3440X1440 Non-Glare Monitor: 100Hz, HDR, Curved, Adaptive Sync by Eric Dennis

Light colors not suitable for general computers

The build quality of this monitor seems to be pretty good. The stand is stable and has an adjustable height, which is good. The monitor I received had no dead pixels that I could see. The control screen monitors are pretty basic and don't offer a lot of customization options. I don't play games - I bought it for general computing and photo editing. The problem is that the monitor's color space exceeds the standard sRGB gamut, resulting in over-saturated cartoon colors, especially red and blue. I didn't realize how problematic this could be until I saw it for myself. If you only use this monitor for gaming, you'll probably be fine. But if you're going to use it for general web browsing at all, the bright colors can give you a headache, like I did. I don't like returning things but I have to return this monitor as I feel it is unsuitable for anything other than gaming. Also, I'm deducting a few stars for MSI's arrogant tech support department. I contacted them TWICE to ask if they know of a way to tame the color scheme (like with a software app or something) and twice they closed the application with no response. You could at least be polite and answer with a simple no.
