Review on 🌬️ Enhanced Aprilaire 60 Humidistat with Blower Activation by Eric Teodoro

When my model 56 humidistat died after 14 years I was looking for a replacement. I could get an exact replacement for the model 56 "new old stock" and save time (they are no longer made). The 60 had some nice features though - a digital humidity display and the ability to run the fan at low speed to keep the humidifier running when heat wasn't needed. I took the plunge for the Model 60. Took me about 4 hours to reattach and reinstall the wires. But it was worth it. Model 60 has a smaller mounting hole so I had to make a sheet metal adapter (so I could use the same spot). You need to make a connection to the air conditioner wiring and I had to run four additional thermostat style wires from the air conditioner to the humidistat (for 24vdc power and fan control). Schematics are good; as long as you are patient you will understand. The block works great. I see the humidity. The fan runs for up to 2 hours after a heat request (low speed) to add moisture when needed. At the same time I replaced the outside temperature sensor. All of this was worth the extra effort.
