Updated rating: Improved rating from 3 to 5 stars. I submitted an initial review but did not request a return or exchange when the markings (cup lines) on the first French press I received wore out within a week. The company contacted me and sent a free replacement. After a week of use (and washing by hand and in the dishwasher) the markings on the replacement are like new, so I think the original problem was a happy defect. Overall, this is a very durable french press (don't worry about accidentally breaking it in the sink!) and holds heat better than thinner glass presses. Excellent customer service. First Review: Seems to be quite strong and I think it keeps the coffee warmer than thinner glass mugs. However, after just a week of use and washing, the marks (1-5 cups) on the outside were completely erased. So I would strongly recommend masking tape or some other marker once you get your hands on it.
