Bought these for Zumba based on reviews. I almost sprained my ankle the first time I wore them to class. There is no ankle support. The laces are an odd, plastic-like material that's difficult to tighten and only goes to the toe, and as a previous reviewer said, the ankle strap does absolutely nothing. Also, they didn't work for me. Despite (or because of?) the extra padding on the back, it dangles. (Good idea, bad execution.) Unless you're doing something that involves a lot of twists and turns, they'll probably work just fine. I would rate it lower, but since no one makes REAL women's high-tops that can be worn for more than fashion, I can't really fault Ryka for following fashion.
