Unlike other string lights I've bought, they were very awkward to install. The easiest way to wrap them is from the end attached to the wire going to the solar receiver. When I started unwinding the rope around the barrel, it was knotted/tied at the tie. Instead, I had to unwind the entire strand from the other end (not easy to explain, but believe me it hurt), which requires unwinding the entire strand and then trying to tie the tree up with 10 feet (or so) of thin wire wrap around, which confuses and confuses every now and then. I almost gave up, but desperately I trotted on. Whoever designed them never used them.
