I run my 9750H at full speed over 4GHz and it has a GTX1650 GPU (idle around 50C). ----- ---------------------------- ------------------------------- ------------ -------- ------------------------------ ------------------ -- ----- So I had a bit of a mission to get my pace where I think it should be. I've been trying various pastes over the past few months and after trial and error came across a few reviews of these. I used an unnamed 8.8 rated paste and it worked fine for a while. In the last few weeks I've noticed that it actually doesn't work as well as it used to. I had several different tubes of paste and tried them both with different spreading techniques, but they just didn't hold up as well as I thought. rated at 3.3, which is terrible stuff for use on a PC. This led me to determine that Antec Formula XI ripped everything down and rubbed it down with isopropyl alcohol to remove any remnants of previous "stickiness" from the heatsink and CPU/GPU to ensure it was accurate when applied and tested. Antec is a more traditional paste that has a fairly good density and is sticky to the touch so it sticks and stays where you apply it. The packaging was fine for a beginner who needs wipes/spreaders/finger pockets but I'm going pro at this point with gloves and a 10 minute disassembly, cleaning and reassembly. Hybrid app for this with a cotton swab applying a thin layer and then a small 1/4 pea sized mound on top before putting everything together to ensure there are no air gaps between the chips/heatsinks and a permanent coating. Sometimes this works better on a laptop app depending on the product. The first thing I noticed was the idle temperatures after a 10-minute warm-up phase at 40°C, as can be seen in the photo. This laptop almost never sees temperatures like this, so it was nice to see it. The next thing I noticed was the CPU hitting a new high at 4.25 GHz, which normally stops around 4.00. Such high temperature in photography usually happens for a short time when I transcode video files to MP4 and it doesn't happen. The time is measured by an average temperature showing a 9°C decrease in the temperature of the paste compared to the measured paste of 8.8°C. Low temperatures show a drop of 3-5°C. The idle temperature drop is 7°C. Proper heat transfer also significantly reduced the number of fan turns up/down. The sensors pick up temperature changes a bit more accurately and the temperature doesn't fluctuate as much. Compared to my desktop, activity seems to be a little more normal when the fan curve is geared towards cooling. I watch things for 48 hours before comparing to get an average temp from laptop/paste performance. The paste rated 3.3 above couldn't get below 100C with occasional use between 72-96 hours after application so I'll keep an eye on Antec but so far it's holding up well. Agree if it's not a problem, or drop it if it doesn't work like the others.
