I have used this ball washer once so far. It was a good time in the 70's. The bag was mostly dry after about 1.5-2 hours (9 holes) and I upgraded it for the back nine (and ended up mostly dry). No big deal - I just had to use some water I brought to drink. The cleaning was m'eh. It worked, but not very well on the first try. Part of the ball came out clean and part seemed to miss. I don't seem to have rubbed the whole ball but since the ball was in the pocket I couldn't see what I had lost. So it took several attempts to clear the ball completely. What worked better was pulling out the towel and rubbing the ball like my regular towel. So if you want to remove some dirt, this works perfectly. He didn't clean very well the balls I found in the woods. I'm looking forward to getting the balls back on track.
