I was skeptical. I shouldn't have been!

This is surprisingly hard to find: a well-made, attractive, heavy STONE WORK baking pan with matching lid. It's beautifully made (yes, it's made in China, but remember that China essentially invented high-quality porcelain and glazed earthenware while Europe and the Middle East were still cooking in raw clay pots over a smoldering fire). The icing on the piece I received is excellent and consistent. In short, this is an amazing addition to my kitchen and table. It's also very visually appealing, with interesting lines and textures. One of the most attractive features is the perfectly fitting lid. While I haven't experimented with this much, I suspect the lid is tight enough to help baste whatever is being cooked in the baker. Cleaning is a breeze. First time I managed to set a sauce on fire in a bakery. I let it cool completely. I then used a plastic sponge and some warm water and the potential problem was immediately washed away. The whole thing went into the dishwasher and came out looking brand new. I would buy this item again in a heartbeat and in fact I have ordered several more items in the same line. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. This is a BEAUTIFUL stoneware! And for some things, there is nothing better than ceramic dishes, including cooking. I can smell the lasagna around the corner.
