I have a 55 gallon aquarium and one (middle) lights it quite well. To center it you have to use suction cups which I don't need and that made it less hidden so I ordered another one. I installed it on the back edge of the tank first (snaps into the ledge that holds the glass) and the room was way too bright (even facing straight down). The tank sits on a high stand so you can see the LEDs at all times when you're sitting on the couch. So I attached them to the front of the tank and pointed them to the back. Wow, this is the effect I was looking for! The hood covers the sofa's LEDs, as if there were a light in the tank that came out of nowhere. It's very bright, almost as bright as my friend's who has 4 T5 bulbs. I don't have any live plants or coral so I can't tell if this spectrum is growth promoting but it's bright enough. That's what I don't like. You can choose All On, Blue Only or ALL OFF but only the blue is MUCH brighter for the "moon" even if I leave at least one blue light on it lights up my entire living room at night. On/off switch on each side of the tank, PITA
