This is a really great ball for night games. We ordered it for a teenage party and it was a hit. The ball is very bright at night. It has an internal LED light that uses 3 button cell batteries (included). As described, the ball turns off after about 5 minutes of inactivity and then lights up again when you kick it. In our case, the battery lasted about 6 hours of continuous gaming. Batteries are very easy to swap out - you pry a small rubber plug out of the bulb (with the tool provided - but a screwdriver will work too), use the tool to pry out the 1 inch long battery and attached LED. light, remove the transparent plastic cover and replace the batteries. Put it back together and then use your thumb to slide the flashlight and battery back into the compartment, then reinsert the rubber stopper. Did. The ball itself is fairly durable, but you won't want to use it for routine play - just for fun at night.
