Review on Upgrade Your Computer Performance with SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB SATA III Internal SSD by Adam Kotula ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The item was good, I'll recommend it to my friends.

I took to transfer the Windows swap file, Photoshop Scratch disk, light room and adobe brige caches - that is, everything that slows down the work. The computer has become less "sticky" under heavy load, but with such use, the guaranteed recording resource will be consumed somewhere in 1-2 years, which is acceptable but insulting :) As I understand it, for my use case, it is desirable to have a couple of disks, albeit of a smaller capacity. I think that for my use case it was a mistake to take a SATA disk, I need something for PCI-E / M.2. And an extra hole for the HDD will remain, and the SATA bandwidth is commensurate with the linear write / read speed of this SSD.

Pros
  • virtues are painted and chewed
Cons
  • not supported by RAPID (RAM cache) for some application scenarios this would be useful. Rapid is included in the pro version. . during multiple operations, the disk speed in sequential writes drops to ~ 150MB / sec (commensurate with modern HDDs and worse than some raids), but this is a property of all modern SSD disks. That is, unlike random access where the SSD is not in competition, sequential writing, for example, saving work files to the HDD, does not give much speed gain and slightly spoils the life of other processes writing to the SSD . for me before buying it was not obvious.
