I was playing around with 2 external monitors with another laptop that I have owned for several years. The capabilities of today's laptops for commuting make them suitable for every need, whether you're in the office, traveling or in the classroom. However, a laptop's small single screen isn't as easy to see with the eyes as it was 10 years ago. I bought a 7th Gen Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon based on the previous good performance of the earlier thinkpad. This dock works well but like most new laptops it connects via a Super/Lightning/All in One USB-C connection. I would have preferred the old style connector but this is best for PC -Manufacturer suitable. Setup was pretty quick and almost plug and play with my two existing monitors. I had to spend a few minutes getting the monitor's displays set up the way I wanted, but that's probably the case with any dock. I've looked at cheaper fake docking stations but their reviews didn't impress me. Some also don't charge the laptop, making them virtually unusable. This Lenovo-branded docking station definitely wasn't cheap, and I probably paid too much for its name. So far it works as advertised to charge my laptop and seamlessly switch to external monitors when I plug it into my laptop.
