I think they just turned me into an Apple guy.

. I have multiple monitors and wireless devices and wanted to be able to swap a cable to go from one to another. Well, the device didn't work on one of the laptops, so I went to Lenovo support and after half an hour of waiting I got a lot of bad advice that didn't make any sense, like "Your laptop can't extend monitors to USB C HDMI only". but I have a cheap targus that I currently use to connect both monitors to my laptop via USB C. They said I was wrong, tech support to send me another link…

Pros
  • . I hold my fists.
Cons
  • . Update Availability

There are MANY versions of these docks. Do your homework before you buy.

The product itself was fine. The packaging was original. Delivery was quick. However, I have not been able to get this particular box (part #40AS) to display 3 external monitors at 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz. Only 2 showed, the 3rd was blurry and choppy. I ended up getting a 135 watt version of the Thunderbolt 40AN dock and it worked fine. There are some BIOS and firmware procedures that need to be followed to make them work sometimes. . Do your homework to make sure you know what you need. I hooked it

Flawless electronics

Easy to use, use with Thinkpad X390, easy setup with no fuss. The laptop is stored in a drawer with the lid closed, ONE USB-C cable from the back of the docking station to the laptop charges the laptop and powers TWO 24" HP 1920 x 1080 monitors connected to the DisplayPort connectors , as well as the USB port from Logitech with power. Receiver for keyboard and mouse, excellent. Works every time the laptop wakes up when I click the mouse or press a few keys on the keyboard. There's also an iPad…

Out of specification. Failed to download.

As I write this, having only been in the box for a few hours with the new Lenovo T590, I have serious problems: 1. Connection to a DP-based KVM and input switch to this laptop dock is not downloading . I have to turn off my laptop just to boot up. However, once downloaded, I can use the dock, it is recognized correctly.2. Even with only a 4k DP monitor connected I only see 30Hz. Since it's KVM I can switch to other computers and they all get 60Hz on the same display. I also went with a…

Worked well with 1 monitor but not with 2

It will not drive 2 monitors at 60Hz through Lenovo T490s. After reading some support materials it seems that the laptop cannot support 2 monitors at 60Hz over a USM-C connection. The T490s can support 2 monitors at 60Hz each when using a docking station connected via a Thunderbolt connection. I love that I can keep the laptop closed and turn it on with the power button on the dock. It's smaller than I expected. A great alternative if you only need a 4K@60hz display.

I wanted a ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock Gen 2 (40ANY230US) for my ThinkPad P15 Gen1 laptop but nobody had them in stock so I bought this one instead. Skeptical (USB-C vs. Thunderbolt) I wasn't sure what I was getting into. The technology is very confusing. How do I get 4K@60Hz, GigE, (4) USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gbps), and (2) USB 2.0 ports from a single USB-C port? I don't know how they do it, but everything works great! I ran some performance tests on SSDs connected with USB 3.1 Gen2…

Nice docking station for Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Gen 7

I was playing around with 2 external monitors with another laptop that I have owned for several years. The capabilities of today's laptops for commuting make them suitable for every need, whether you're in the office, traveling or in the classroom. However, a laptop's small single screen isn't as easy to see with the eyes as it was 10 years ago. I bought a 7th Gen Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon based on the previous good performance of the earlier thinkpad. This dock works well but like most new…

Dock is good but customer service is terrible

After installing this dock on the Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon X1 Gen 7, everything worked fine for about 3 weeks. None of the USB 3 ports worked at the time. After a call to customer service the first agent helped but was unable to resolve the issue instead arranging a return and replacement. Handed over to a second agent who asked to collect my car (which I satisfied). He made several changes to the bios settings that didn't solve the problem. He then restored the operating system remotely. The…
