I want to love it but I can't

I want to love this product but it has a few small features that make it annoying and cumbersome to use. 1) It must be connected to a power source to function. And the cable is super short. So I need to attach an extension to even consider using it. 2) The mobile app suffers or lacks when it comes to connectivity. In one attempt I had to click connect 10 times before it was successful. In the end it did and worked fine, but by then I had forgotten about it.
