Review on Prominence Home Clancy Ceiling Fan - Brushed Nickel, 52-inch by Norma Hoffman

Decent fan but some flaws

In general, my wife and I like this fan. We have a high sloping ceiling in our bedroom and I used this fan to replace an old corded fan. Due to the pitches I also had to purchase an 18" down rod separately. I will outline my thoughts on the process below. Installation: wasn't VERY difficult and they give you quite a bit of wire in case it needs to hang lower than the bottom bar provided I liked it a lot as I didn't want to cover up the old wiring from the previous fan.The instructions are also surprisingly simple and easy to follow.A few things don't really apply but it's easy to figure out what to do and what not to do and move on. However, I have found that there is almost NO SPACE between the motor and the lighting assembly, so if you need to install this part you will have problems unless the wiring is installed absolutely perfectly. Others have had this problem in as well noted in their reviews.Another problem I noticed is that the top hanger doesn't line up properly with the hanger cover kung if you mount it on a slope. I managed to screw in three screws, but despite everything, the last screw didn't go in. In addition, the bottom bar rests against the hole in the seat belt cover. This caused a very slight rattle on high settings, but otherwise it comes and goes. I'll try to hold it together with some kind of gasket to stop the knocking. Usage: The fan is quite quiet and the remote control is very convenient, but we've noticed some issues lately. 1. If the fan runs at night while we sleep, the light will turn on randomly. It doesn't happen every night, but it does happen from time to time.2. The fan also turned off, which was odd. I write it on removed problems, took out the batteries and put them back in. This is interesting as this does NOT happen when the fan is off, only when it is running. 3. The dimmer is interesting. Instead of using a real dimming button, you have to hold down the light button to dim. It works, but I wish there was a separate button. Overall: We like the fan, and while it's angled with a large bottom stem, it moves air well and doesn't budge or shake much at altitude. . We are tracking the issues found and I may update this later with my future experiences.
