I didn't buy this for storage. And as far as I can tell, there are very few of them. The entire compartment is one large piece of foam that serves as an armrest. A small zippered part can hold small things like money, credit cards and maybe a phone. But again, I didn't buy it for storage. So I don't see it as a disadvantage. I bought it because I need something hands on. And the thing does its job very well. Although the instructions are very vague and look like a photocopy of something, it's pretty easy to install. one). Extend the front seats (lever at the foot of the seatback and pull forward)2). Remove the torx screws and plastic fasteners that secure the center plastic cover.3). Disconnect the 2 seat belts and derailleur grommets and fold them up to the top of the derailleur and strap slots. four). In the seat belt area, lift the center plastic cover about 3 to 5 inches and support it by inserting slightly in front of the seat belt anchors.5). Unscrew the two screws that attach the seat belt brackets to the frame.6). Slide the armrest bracket over the exposed bolt holes, then over the seat belts, then over the bottom nuts.7). Screw in the rest of the armrest brackets.8). Now assemble the soft part of the armrest. Pay special attention to the order in which the flat piece of metal goes in relation to the soft part of the armrest.9). Reassemble everything. You need to change the seat belt cuffs. I just cut mine with scissors. This item is worth every penny for the convenience I offer. However, it feels a bit flimsy when you put a lot of weight on it. But two hands is fine I think.
