Review on Acer PM141Q Portable Monitor Included 13.3", 1920X1080, 60Hz, Wide Screen, ‎UM.AP1AA.001 by Armando Bonuccelli

Compatible with Thunderbolt only

This monitor was purchased to serve as a third monitor and ride on my standing desk. From that point of view it works great. Clear image, good viewing angle range and stable image. However, the information implied it was a USB-C input, but didn't specify that it would only work with a Thudberbolt connector. I have a newer laptop with a Thunderbolt docking station and the monitor is connected and working. However, the cable wasn't long enough to work with the desk stand and I bought a good quality USB 3 to USB-C cable and it didn't work. From the looks of it, this monitor will ONLY work with a laptop or docking station with a Thunderbolt port. The catch is that it's difficult to find a cable that's the right length. I'm sorry I didn't do enough research, but the implicit compatibility made me spend a lot of extra money. For reference, I tried the USB-C cable in combination with the included power bank and micro USB cable and it didn't work. or. Very narrow selection of components.
