Good until it breaks

I used this converter for two months with an old iPhone USB adapter. I hardly touch it - I just stick it in the wall. It was working fine until today when I tried to separate it it broke in two. After reading other negative reviews I realized that the product is really cheap and I will just pay more and buy a genuine Apple converter in the future.
