Review on ๐Ÿบ Tiaoyeer Brix Refractometer with ATC: Optimize Beer and Wine Brewing with Digital Handheld Dual Scale-Specific Gravity and Brix Measurement by Nick Ross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for pre-cooking and initial density measurements

Update - User Error! I have corrected this review as I have found that this device actually fits my classic hydrometer and tilt hydrometer. Refractometers are not accurate when there is alcohol in solution, so the final density must be measured with a standard hydrometer or using an equation based on OG and a correction factor. I've tried the Brew Father calculator, it works for the most part, but I'm sticking with the slope values for the FG. Given the viewing accuracy compared to the second device, readability and overall ease of use, I've updated my rating to 5 stars. I don't see how you could have a better product in the price range. I highly recommend Tilt though, they're pretty damn handy, only 10x more expensive and only useful during the fermentation steps! Original Rating: Given similar reviews to mine, I would not recommend this device. Beer and 2 seltzer when measured with this refractometer. I thought the first beer was lucky and didn't check it with a hydrometer, but the last one was so far away that I had to double-check. The results are in the attached photos. Every time I used this refractometer, I calibrated it to zero with the water I used to brew. I thought the other negative reviewers might have been disabled due to operator error and I might have abused it as well, but the youtube hour I watched on this issue points to a faulty unit.
