Review on 🚲 Stromberg Carlson LA-102 Universal Ladder Bike Rack: Secure and Convenient 1-Inch Attachment by Jimmy Koroye

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great carrier for the price.

No problems so far. Used it to transport a bike <400 miles round trip. Someone complained that the rubber bands that came with it were too difficult to put together or didn't fit. I haven't had this problem. Please note that they need to fit snugly so they don't come loose. I have used a bumper bike rack that had the same straps and has worked great over the years. Never unpacked. Additionally, others have complained about the flexing of the tubular metal support arms. I didn't notice this problem. I'll be getting a better workout next month as I plan on hauling two bikes across the country from Pennsylvania to MT and back. Just take a look! I had to move the spare tire/cover that bolts to the rear bumper of my 5th wheel as it got in the way of the bike when installing it. All I had to do was loosen the two U-bolts that hold the tire together. to the bumper and I was able to move the whole thing to the left just enough for the tire to clear the bike. If you have a similar situation and cannot move the spare tire, you can also mount the bike rack higher on the ladder to fix the gap problem. I chose the easy way.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Hard to say
