Ideal for 2 racing bikes.

My wife and I rode 2200 miles on this rack on a recent trip. The combined weight of our two road bikes is 41 pounds. The rack is rated for 50 pounds or less. We found the stand to be very durable and work great. With a 50lb weight limit, this rack is perfect for road bikes and probably can't carry heavier mountain bikes. We are very happy with this solution for our caravan.

Arctic Fox Ladder

I had to modify the ladder as it was not securely attached to the ladder by drilling a bracket and inserting pins on each side. Because of this, I gave it a low rating for ease of installation. Other than that it looks good and I've got two bikes hung on it but haven't ridden a bike there yet. I will tie the bikes with rubber bands in addition to the clips provided, albeit as insurance.

Pros
  • was not tightened High score for support and durability from the testers

If you have good bikes this is for 1

Unless you have two rough bikes don't worry about them rubbing paint together this is a single bike rack. Other ladder bike racks are no better, that's the nature of the animal. This rack is great for an adult bike if you remove the front wheel and attach it very securely. If you only use the straps provided, you will get terrible results, as some of the photos in these reviews show.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Fragile

Great product for motorhomes!

I love this bike rack! We had a problem with our van: it didn't have enough storage space for long trips. We wanted a trailer rack for extra storage but needed another way to carry our bikes. This product installed in about 20 minutes and does a great job! The only small issue I have is that our van has the stairs quite far away, so the seat and steering wheel hang just a few inches over the side of the van.

Frustrated - Exterior Accessories

My husband installed this on our motorhome according to the instructions. Trying to attach my son's bike was very difficult. Shouldn't be made for a kid's bike. It didn't hang the way it was supposed to, the posts were too wide. As a result, we were hanging on the crossbar of the bike. Then it was time to hang my bike, which took some effort, especially as we had turned the first bike the wrong way. We ended up using an extra bungee cord and made it work.

Depending on bike design

I bought a bike rack and ladder. It holds both perfectly unless your bike is stock. Worked poorly on bikes with rear suspension. Even one of my standard mountain bikes proved awkward to assemble due to the location of the rubber straps. Derailing got in the way (which is pretty common on most bikes). I will need to use additional straps to securely secure the bike. Also, upon arrival, the packaging and product looked worn and worn; dirty, scratched and missing locking ball in one of the pins. I

Bad buy for luggage rack

This bike rack looks good and can easily handle two standard cruisers. I thought I had made a really good purchase until I started installing it. There was no "highlight" at the end of the outer rail. This is the part that keeps the bike pad from slipping off the end of the rail. I should have stopped there and returned the rack, but I used a self-tapping screw to stop it. We loaded our bikes and set out on the 350 mile round trip to the beach. Most of the roads were dual carriageway and not…

Great carrier for the price.

No problems so far. Used it to transport a bike <400 miles round trip. Someone complained that the rubber bands that came with it were too difficult to put together or didn't fit. I haven't had this problem. Please note that they need to fit snugly so they don't come loose. I have used a bumper bike rack that had the same straps and has worked great over the years. Never unpacked. Additionally, others have complained about the flexing of the tubular metal support arms. I didn't notice this…
