Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Schwinn Rear Bike Rack: Optimized Bicycle Accessories for Enhanced Performance by Bill Lyons

Super customizable when you need to adjust your fit and/or work in tight spaces.

My wife rides a rather small racing bike. She used the trunk to commute to work when the weather was nice. However, we recently bought a weehoo bike trailer for our kids. The seat post mount for this trailer could not be used with their old bike rack (no problem with my larger framed bike). So the old prop fell off and most of the new props didn't work with it (the prop is still too high, the lip in the front gets in the way). This stand solved that problem. First, it's flat. No lips bother. More importantly, it's very, very adjustable. Most shelves are what they are. This is adaptable for mounting arms that connect to the seatstays (comes with 4 P clamps, bolts, washers and nuts if you wish to use these). This allows you to move the mounts up/down on the bike and forward/back on the rack (and you can flip them). The mounting arms are also adjustable in width (from narrow to wide) where they mount to the rack. The angle of the tripod is adjusted on the tripod mount. The standing height is set using the adjustment next to the eyelet. You can really play with the fit of this luggage rack. I was able to fit it much closer to the rear wheel of my wife's bike than the old rack; It easily detaches the Weehoo trailer seatpost mount. The only downside to consider is that it can't support as much weight as a more traditional rack (26 pounds is said to be more than enough for our needs). It's a bit heavy considering it only has one set of uprights (it takes extra metal to make all those adjustments). If you use a bag with one of these bungee cord hooks, you must hook (or don't use) your lower back to the frame of the bike. I was able to make one of the supplied clamps for this. Overall very satisfied as it met our requirements.
